How do I apply for housing or rental assistance?

Potter County Housing Authority does not have any emergency housing programs. Emergency Financial Assistance for housing may be available through the Potter County Office of Human Services 814-544-7315.
8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Our offices are closed on some Federal holidays.
For Section 8, your rent will generally be 30% of your adjusted gross income with some exceptions. Section 8 staff will explain the rent calculation to you in further detail. For the elderly/disabled and family housing complexes, your rent will depend on a number of factors, including: fair market rent for that complex, your income, family size, eligible medical expenses for elderly/disabled families, and other applicable deductions.
New Section 8 rental assistance applications are processed once a month. You will receive an acknowledgement after your application is processed.
